Responsibilities
Serve as the primary administrator for Jira Cloud, managing global settings, user permissions, security schemes, and complex workflow configurations
Define and execute the long-term strategy for Atlassian tools at SoFi - specifically JIRA - ensuring the platform evolves to meet the needs of a rapidly growing fintech environment
Partner with engineering, product, and business teams to design, implement, and maintain custom workflows, fields, screens, and reporting dashboards that improve team velocity
Establish and enforce best practices for project configuration, plugin management, and data integrity to ensure the platform remains performant and compliant with financial industry standards
Leverage Automation for Jira, low code/now code automation platforms, and API integrations to connect Jira with other enterprise tools (e.g., Slack, GitHub, Okta) to eliminate manual overhead
Manage the evaluation, testing, and implementation of new features, marketplace apps, and version upgrades
Act as a subject matter expert, providing advanced troubleshooting and creating documentation or training sessions for power users across the company
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in Atlassian administration, specifically managing large-scale Jira environments in a professional enterprise setting
Deep expertise in Jira Query Language (JQL), Jira Service Management (JSM), and Confluence
Proven ability to move beyond 'ticket-taking' to proactively identifying process improvements and driving tool adoption strategies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical requirements into business-friendly solutions
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Preferred
Experience with ScriptRunner (Groovy) or Jira API integrations is highly preferred
Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP) status is a significant plus
