Controller
Strategic Employment Partners (SEP) is a mission-driven nonprofit organization in the DTLA / Silver Lake area seeking a hands-on Controller to lead the accounting function during a critical period of growth. The role involves strategic oversight and day-to-day execution, partnering closely with leadership to guide the audit process and strengthen financial operations.
Responsibilities
Own the accounting function end-to-end, including day-to-day operations and leadership oversight
Lead the annual audit process as the primary point of contact
Support organizational growth through improved financial processes and controls
Manage and develop the accounting team
Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and best practices
Qualification
Required
Recent Nonprofit accounting experience
Recent Controller or Management experience with hands-on responsibility for monthly close, reporting, and compliance
2–3+ years of ownership of annual financial audits, including direct interaction with external auditors and leadership
Experience leading and developing an accounting team
Preferred
NetSuite is a plus
