Akkodis is seeking an API Developer for a Contract with a client in Jersey City, NJ / Dallas, TX / Tampa, FL. The role involves designing and developing scalable, secure API solutions on AWS, integrating them with backend services, and implementing API security best practices.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure APIs using AWS services such as API Gateway, Lambda, and EKS

Integrate APIs with backend services and data stores (SQL/NoSQL), third-party platforms, and internal systems, ensuring reliability and performance

Implement API security best practices including OAuth 2.0, JWT-based authentication, authorization, input validation, and rate limiting

Collaborate with DevOps to enable CI/CD using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CDK, and ensure high availability, resilience, and roll-back strategies

Monitor and optimize API performance with AWS CloudWatch and related tooling, troubleshooting bottlenecks and improving latency, throughput, and error rates

Lead code reviews and mentor engineers, uphold API design standards (REST/Graphql, versioning, error handling), and contribute across the SDLC within Agile/SAFe

Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field

10+ years of hands-on software programming experience, with at least 5 years in backend and API development

Deep expertise in AWS services (API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, EKS) and strong proficiency in API design (REST/Graphql) and security protocols (OAuth 2.0, JWT)

Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CDK, and strong knowledge of Agile methodologies
