Responsibilities

Lead the implementation of critical statewide programs in energy storage policy, distribution grid planning, and targeted DER procurement
Advise and assist high-level decision-makers, including Commissioners, Judges, and Energy Division management
Conduct original research, produce staff proposals, and make policy recommendations based on independent analysis of regulatory, market, policy, and technical issues
Develop recommendations for the CPUC’s policy-setting rulemakings, review and provide feedback on proposed legislation, manage technical contractors, and oversee the implementation of programs resulting from CPUC and legislative processes

Required

Eligibility for the classification
Experience researching and analyzing complex energy policy issues, including technical, economic, and financial aspects
Experience communicating complex findings to decision-makers, stakeholders, or the public through written reports, white papers, and presentations
Experience managing complex technical projects, including coordinating teams, meeting deadlines, and delivering high-quality work products
Completion of the STD 678 application form with detailed experience related to public utilities and/or transportation in the areas of economics, finance, or policy
Submission of a copy of transcript or diploma if using education to meet minimum qualifications
Verification of United States course/degree equivalency for foreign education
Submission of a completed Statement of Qualifications (SOQ)
Current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678
