Responsibilities

Analyzing, researching, designing, and developing materials and related fabrication processes to optimize performance in structures, systems, and subsystems
Applying chemistry, physics, and material‑behavior principles to create specifications for metallic, non‑metallic, and composite materials and their processing
Developing material property models, design allowables, and quality‑engineering specifications
Conducting failure analyses, life‑prediction studies, and defining requirement specifications for components and systems
Reviewing and approving subcontractor material‑processing procedures to ensure compliance and performance

Required

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access
The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start
Analyzing, researching, designing, and developing materials and related fabrication processes to optimize performance in structures, systems, and subsystems
Applying chemistry, physics, and material-behavior principles to create specifications for metallic, non-metallic, and composite materials and their processing
Developing material property models, design allowables, and quality-engineering specifications
Conducting failure analyses, life-prediction studies, and defining requirement specifications for components and systems
Reviewing and approving subcontractor material-processing procedures to ensure compliance and performance

Preferred

Experience in Aerospace Metallic, Nonmetallic, and or Hazardous materials
Experience in technical specifications, reports, and test plans
Experience in creating and delivering technical presentations and briefings
Ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment
