Responsibilities
Collect, organize, and reconcile missing or incomplete patient information to ensure record accuracy
Confirm patient insurance coverage and classification for proper billing
Verify referring physician details and secure all required documentation and non-PI authorizations
Review liability and coverage details for Personal Injury cases in alignment with industry standards
Manage formal case closures once treatment has concluded or is no longer required
Answer questions, resolve issues, and de-escalate concerns professionally
Assist with special projects and additional tasks as assigned by leadership
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of medical billing and CPT codes (PPO, HMO, MC)
Experience running eligibility, verification, and obtaining/submitting authorizations
Familiarity with Workers' Compensation (CWC, AWC) and Personal Injury (PI, PI Med Pay)
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, associate degree, specialized training, or equivalent
At least 2 years of insurance and/or physician office customer service experience
Minimum of 1 year in a medical clerical role
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Strong attention to detail and ability to stay focused
Excellent communication skills, grammar, and proficiency in MS Office
