Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage relational SQL environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability
Monitor and tune database performance, proactively identifying and resolving capacity, latency, and reliability issues
Implement and maintain database security controls, including access management, encryption, auditing, and compliance with DoD security policies
Develop and execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data protection and continuity of operations
Support database deployment, configuration, and sustainment across on-premises and cloud environments
Collaborate with development and DevSecOps teams to support SQL Server integration, schema changes, and release activities
Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for complex database issues

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field

Demonstrated experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS)
Experience supporting databases in secure or regulated environments, preferably DoD or federal programs
Security Clearance Required: Secret

Preferred

AWS Certified Database – Specialty or equivalent cloud database certification
