Responsibilities
In conjunction with the Senior Financial Analyst, develop monthly financial variance packages to enable General Management & Operations business partners to provide commentary on how their accounts impact overall company P&L and how the business is run
Act as an expert on our P&L, deeply understanding the unit economics of each product and market and utilizing that understanding to manage and lead company-wide strategic projects and functional deep-dives
Partner with our Commercial function (General Management & Operations, Existing Partnerships, and Business Development teams) to evaluate financial impact of new growth initiatives and sales opportunities
Manage and oversee financial aspects for all utility partnership contract renewals and renegotiations, providing financial analysis and strategic thought partnership throughout the process
Work with Pricing/Growth and Business Intelligence teams to advance our data sets/structures, leading to a deeper understanding of our customer, agent, and discounting behavior to better inform our pricing forecast and strategy
Collaborate with our Financial Planning & Analysis function to drive continuous improvements in our Pricing and Long Range Models, driving improved decision-making within the business
Collaborate with other Commercial Finance team members for quarterly forecasts to ensure market and product specific nuances are captured in financial projections
Lead, mentor, and manage one senior financial analyst, providing guidance on analysis, prioritization, and professional development to ensure high-quality deliverables that support business goals
Implement standardized processes, cadence, and performance views across the finance organization to help streamline work and provide insight more quickly to the business
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a finance role with strategic and/or commercial finance or FP&A experience preferred
3+ years of experience leading, mentoring, and building high-performing teams, allocating and managing resources and setting/managing performance goals. This includes a track record of consistently recognizing and rewarding excellent performance and addressing performance issues head-on, without delay
Excellent data, analytical, financial modeling and problem-solving skills, with the ability to succinctly interpret data for executives and frame business issues in a straightforward manner
Demonstrated experience building new processes, models (e.g. new partnership business cases, existing partner contract renewals, pricing), and analyses from scratch (e.g. deep dives into operational trend drivers), and improving ones that already exist
Outstanding interpersonal and communication/presentation skills, with the ability to partner well with other team members (across a wide variety of functional areas) and interface effectively with all levels of management
Solid organizational and time management skills, with ability to multi-task in a complex and deadline-driven environment
Have a bias for action and an ownership mindset
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint), with expertise in advanced Microsoft Excel modeling and complex functions
Proficiency in Microsoft O365 (Excel, PowerPoint), with expertise in advanced Microsoft Excel functionalities
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Finance or related field or equivalent experience
Preferred
Looker (will train), Tableau, or SQL experience a plus
