The Senior Applied AI / ML Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling AI-powered workflows to enhance operational efficiency and deliver impactful outcomes for the organization and its customers.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and scale production-grade agentic workflows that observe operational signals, reason across data, and take or recommend actions such as alerts, task creation, and decision support
Own the AI execution layer, including prompt architecture, orchestration, evaluation, monitoring, logging, and tool creation including but not limited to MCP
Translate business needs and operational challenges into clear technical approaches and delivery plans, resulting in scalable, reusable AI solutions
Partner closely with data engineering to define AI-ready schemas and data contracts
Partner with internal stakeholders to define, prioritize, and iterate on AI use cases
Implement cost controls, performance monitoring, and quality checks for AI systems
Ensure AI systems are secure, governed, auditable, and reliable
Drive solutions from concept to production without heavy process or handoffs
Acts as a technical owner: You take accountability for outcomes, not just implementation; you take solutions from concept to production with minimal direction
Thinks strategically and in systems: You design reusable patterns and platforms, not one-off automations; you design AI systems with business outcomes, scalability, and long-term impact in mind
Translates effectively: You can communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and turn business vision into execution
Moves with urgency: you prioritize pragmatism, speed, and impact over perfection
Balances strategy and execution: You help shape what we build and then build it
Collaborates deeply: You work closely with data engineers and business stakeholders

Qualification

Required

5-7+ years of experience in software engineering or applied machine learning
Demonstrated experience productionizing AI or LLM-based systems
Strong proficiency in Python and API-driven architectures
Hands-on experience with prompt engineering, evaluation, and optimization
Experience designing systems that operate with incomplete, evolving, or noisy data, and weighing in on how best to optimize around that data
Proven ability to integrate Azure OpenAI or similar LLM platforms into orchestrated workflows
Experience orchestrating multi-step, event-driven workflows using services such as Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, or Durable Functions
Experience designing and deploying cloud-native AI workflows in Microsoft Azure
Strong understanding of secure system connectivity in Azure, including identity, secrets management, and access control
Familiarity with AI cost optimization strategies
Proven ability to operate independently and drive work end-to-end
Experience in B2B SaaS or operational technology environments
