Sr Coordinator, HRIS (Human Resources Data Management)

The City of Fort Collins is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented professional to join their HR Data Management team. The Senior Coordinator is responsible for managing and processing confidential employee and compensation data within the HRIS, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with established procedures.

Responsibilities

Administer all aspects of the position control module maintaining accurate, reliable employee data; update position control as employees change positions due to promotions, transfers, new hires, separations, classification changes, FTE changes, and changes in home business unit
Review Personnel Action Forms for accuracy and corrects errors prior to processing pay and status changes for all unclassified and classified employees
Work with managers to resolve any data differences ensuring that employee data is entered accurately in the HRIS
Verify pay documentation and requests comply with applicable City personnel policies and compensation policies
Assist managers and employees with inquiries to employee status, pay, and policy questions
Process Personnel Requisitions to verify positions vacancies exist and are in authorized budget
Conduct research, compiles, prepares, and maintain records reports and spreadsheets
Responsible for running and checking various pre-payroll audit reports to ensure accuracy of employee records in the HRIS
Work in conjunction with systems analyst to implement modifications to HRIS system
Participate in system testing and training
Assist with other projects, as assigned

Required

High School Diploma or GED and or functionally related licenses or certificates
College degree or equivalent work experience. Some positions may require functionally related certification or advanced degrees
Three to five years experience in human resources, payroll accounting, employee benefits, compensation or related areas, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong customer service skills
Ability to establish and maintain efficient work flow and administrative processes
Knowledge of basic math and accounting principles
Knowledge of standard office software and general computer operations
Database management skills
Ability to work with limited supervision and exercise independent judgment
Strong attention to detail
Ability to ensure data integrity and accuracy
Able to multitask and manage competing deadlines/priorities
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to maintain confidentiality of personnel data and issues

Preferred

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
College-level or technical course work in business, finance, payroll or office management
Knowledge of human resources / payroll enterprise software highly desired
Knowledge of process improvement methods and tools
