Evergreen Fund Controller/Director of Finance

Atlantic Group is seeking a Controller to lead the accounting operations and financial reporting functions of a soon to be launched registered alternatives fund. This key leadership position will work closely with senior management and investment professionals, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Oversee the financial accounting and reporting for the registered alternatives fund, including preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations
Ensure accurate and timely filings with the SEC, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, as well as compliance with other specific regulatory filings
Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including consolidation of financial results and oversight of the general ledger
Supervise and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure high standards of accuracy and efficiency
Collaborate with the investment team and portfolio management to ensure accurate recording of investment valuations, income recognition, and fair value measurements
Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and periodic reviews, ensuring smooth processes and clean audit results
Manage internal controls over financial reporting in line with SOX requirements, identifying and implementing improvements where needed
Oversee the preparation of board materials, investor reports, and other management reporting packages
Collaborate with tax advisors and legal counsel to ensure compliance with tax regulations and fund structures
Stay current on emerging accounting standards and regulatory changes impacting the new landscape

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA designation strongly preferred
Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting/finance roles, with at least 3 years in a senior accounting leadership capacity
Experience with registered funds and reporting
Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, specifically for investment companies and SEC reporting requirements for registered funds
Strong knowledge of internal controls, accounting systems, and financial statement preparation
Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Experience working with fund administrators, third-party valuation firms, and other external service providers
