Systems Administrator II
MIT Lincoln Laboratory is focused on advancing quantum computing and quantum sensing technologies. They are seeking a Level 2 IT Systems Administrator to support various operating systems in both classified and unclassified environments, develop solutions to IT challenges, and provide end-user support.

Responsibilities
Provide onsite support for Windows, Linux, and Mac systems across secure and open networks
Maintain compliance through regular OS and software patching
Troubleshoot performance issues and recommend system upgrades
Specify, implement, and test system configurations and perform upgrades across multiple platforms
Research, recommend, and implement hardware/software solutions
Collaborate with vendors, security, and internal teams on procurements, installations, and upgrades
Configure, test, and maintain multi-platform networks and systems
Implement security measures aligned with government and lab policies
Manage data backups, recoveries, and license renewals
Deliver responsive end-user support
Qualification
Required
B.S. in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years in systems administration or IT support
Experience with Windows, macOS, and Linux in classified/unclassified settings
Proficiency in Office 365, Teams, Zoom, and collaboration tools
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, LDAP
Hands-on experience with OS imaging, BitLocker, LUKS, and desktop applications
Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and networking problems
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills
Solid understanding of security and cyber-hardening practices
Preferred
Experience with virtualization (VMware, vCenter, Hyper-V)
Knowledge of AD, Group Policy, Bash/PowerShell scripting, YUM
Familiarity with additional scripting or programming (e.g., Python, Perl)
Familiarity with DevOps/CI-CD tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, etc.)
Background in mission-critical environments
Experience with security plans, procedures, and compliance (e.g., DoD 8140)
