Senior Software Engineer (Hybrid – Puerto Rico)

Responsibilities

Secure Development: Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, high-performing software solutions
Automation: Build and refine CI/CD pipelines to automate development, testing, deployment, and monitoring
Integration & Testing: Integrate and validate software in an Agile development environment
Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure security, quality, and operational practices are consistently applied
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks throughout the software lifecycle
Mentorship: Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment
Compliance & Standards: Ensure adherence to Collins Aerospace development processes, security requirements, and industry best practices

Required

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written)
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Preferred

Proficiency in software development with secure coding practices
Experience with automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development environments
Knowledge of software security principles, risk mitigation, and vulnerability management
Experience with embedded software development in C++
Proficiency in Linux, scripting (Python, Perl, Shell)
Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS Cloud
Experience in cryptographic system design and implementation
Exposure to system engineering principles and full software lifecycle execution
Knowledge of hardware-software integration in real-time embedded systems
Familiarity with Git, Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, Coverity
