Responsibilities

Provide broad legal support across state and local government contracts, grants, commercial agreements, compliance, and corporate governance matters
Report directly to the General Counsel of a highly respected nonprofit corporation
Draft, negotiate, and review commercial contracts
Operate independently with minimal supervision in a lean environment

Required

10+ years of relevant legal experience
Prior experience serving as Senior Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, General Counsel or similar in-house position
Experience with state and local government contracts, grants, and related compliance matters
Strong commercial contract drafting, negotiation, and review skills
Excellent analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision in a lean environment
Active bar membership in good standing

Preferred

Background in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations strongly preferred
Lending and corporate governance experience are a plus
