Los Alamos National Laboratory is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in strategic science on behalf of national security. They are seeking a Work Control Planner to prepare and develop detailed work instructions for equipment maintenance and support various functional activities related to work control and planning.

Responsibilities
Prepare and develop detailed step-by-step work instructions for equipment and/or system corrective and/or preventative maintenance for nuclear and non-nuclear programmatic equipment
Identify required labor, material, and equipment needed, environmental issues, work hazards; control measures such as isolation, containment or de-energizing of various equipment
State requirements for working with waste operations in NPI and programmatic operations group personnel
Perform various functional and administrative activities in conjunction with the primary work control/work package development including permit development, testing requirements, documentation generation, records management, database information management, retrieval and review, and/or training
Prepare, review, and issue modification, corrective maintenance, and/or preventative maintenance work packages in accordance with applicable procedures and regulations
Track and expedite established priority of work packages
Assist in preparing and/or reviews efficient and specific instruction for isolation, containment or de-energizing various mechanical, physical, electrical, chemical and/or radiological systems according to established procedures and regulations
Qualification
Required
Ability to conduct functional and administrative activities in conjunction with the primary work control/work package development including, but not limited to, permit development, testing requirements, documentation generation, records management, database information management, tracking, retrieval and review of work packages
Ability to understand and interpret various mechanical and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics
Ability to understand work control, maintenance and/or materials management and understanding of work control and related policies, practices, and procedures
Ability to utilize and manipulate a computerized work management system in maintaining and tracking work-planning activities
Intermediate computer skills (such as typing, spreadsheets, reports and use of Microsoft Word and Excel)
Knowledge and or experience in identifying environmental issues; and work hazards and controls such as the isolation, containment or de-energizing of various mechanical, physical, electrical, chemical and/or radiological systems according to established procedures and regulations
Working knowledge in identifying required labor, material, and equipment are needed to be successful in completing given work activities
Ability to fully understand work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration, and lock-out/tag-out policies and procedures
Experience and demonstrated skill in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions on problems affecting work control and planning
Knowledge of legal requirements and environmental impacts affecting work control and planning
Knowledge of the Laboratory's work control and facility policies, practices, and procedures
Skill in the preparation and presentation of work control reports
Skill to conceptualize and communicate major elements of work control and planning to both technical and non-technical personnel
Position requires 2 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation
Position requires a Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation
Preferred
In-depth understanding of the Laboratory's work control and facility policies, practices, and procedures
Working experience and/or knowledge with Asset Suites
Active Q clearance
Current HRP Certification
Knowledge of facility and/or utility related equipment
