The Plant Engineering Manager will handle cradle to grave engineering delivery for the mineral processing plant while managing the day-to-day operations of the Owner’s and Contractors’ Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Handle cradle to grave engineering delivery for the mineral processing plant while managing the day-to-day operations of the Owner’s and Contractors’ Engineering teams

Applies complex and diversified engineering techniques, principles, theories and mining industry practices to drive all plant engineering, procurement coordination, and commissioning and turnover related coordination with engineering for the project

Close liaison and coordination with the project managers, project teams, project services disciplines, and corporate shared service groups (legal, social, etc.) is required

Exercise supervision over all EPCM and ancillary contractor technical design works for the process plant

Represent the SGP and Perpetua in all technical matters ensuring robust technical oversight for all design works to the highest industry standards to the end goal of a fully functional gold plant capable of exceeding nameplate production capacity and anticipated recoveries

Supervise Document Control services and ensuring accurate records retention and traceability

Required

Related engineering degree and experience in leading large multi-disciplined engineering teams on large projects in the mining and minerals industry

Managing EPCM Contractor engineering is a plus

Minimum of 15 years' experience with multi-disciplined project engineering and design teams on large capital projects

Experience coordinating the field engineering function and coordination in process pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up together with the requisite planning and associated management preferred

Management and supervisory experience is required as is experience in supervising and managing a large group of technical contractors

Strong working knowledge of process and control equipment related to the gold processing industry preferred

Experience with pressure oxidation and/or froth flotation is a plus

Experience in 3D and smart process plant design a plus

Strong presentation, facilitation, and consultation skills. Negotiation and conflict resolution skills

Ability to identify and analyze organizational needs with demonstrated ability to scope, build and lead high-performing teams

Knowledge and understanding of the statutory regulations relevant to safety and the environment for the mining industry

Excellent relationship management, negotiation and dispute resolution skills

Excellent interpersonal skills as well as excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

A valid passport and the ability to travel to the US and Canada
