The Gill Corporation is one of the world's largest manufacturers of honeycomb and reinforced plastics for the aerospace industry. They are seeking a CNC Operator responsible for setting up and operating numerical control machines to ensure high-quality production of nonmetallic core materials.

Responsibilities

Reviews setup sheets and specifications to determine setup procedure, machining sequence, and dimensions of finished work piece

Using machine controls, operator retrieves programs

Manipulates controls and enters commands to index cutting tool to specified set point and to start machine

Changes cutting tools & location of work piece during machining process per setup instructions

Measures work piece for conformance to specifications

Notifies supervisor of discrepancies

Machines materials such as honeycomb panels and honeycomb core

Check cutter size and wear. Also add edits to accommodate actual cutter diameter to prevent parts not meeting tolerances

Is not permitted to alter programs without supervisor or programmer’s sign-off/approval

Other duties as assigned
