Internet Resource Group, Inc. is a growing e-commerce company that operates multiple websites supported by a centralized system. They are seeking a skilled Web Applications and Systems Developer to design, build, and maintain web applications, focusing on multi-system integrations and business process automation.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain custom web applications, internal tools, and workflow systems to support business operations

Build and support front-end features using modern JavaScript frameworks (React or similar) and strong core web fundamentals (HTML/CSS/JavaScript)

Develop and maintain back-end services and custom functionality using PHP, Python, or similar languages

Design, implement, and maintain third-party and internal API integrations

Create and maintain automation workflows and scripted functions (including Deluge or comparable scripting) to streamline business processes and improve data accuracy across systems

Develop and optimize database queries and structures (MySQL/SQL), including schema design, troubleshooting, and performance improvements

Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting for applications and integrations; investigate issues and drive problems to resolution

Support e-commerce platform customization and extensions (OpenCart or similar), including enhancements that impact catalog management, checkout, order workflows, and related integrations

Ensure changes are deployed safely using sound production practices, including testing, staging validation, rollback planning, and documentation

Collaborate with team leaders to translate business requirements into technical solutions, provide status updates, and document systems and workflows for long-term maintainability

Required

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex application and integration issues quickly and efficiently

Strong web development fundamentals: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React (or similar)

Backend web development experience (one or more): PHP, Python (or similar)

Experience building and maintaining custom web applications (internal tools, admin panels, workflow apps)

Solid understanding of REST APIs (requests, auth, pagination, rate limits, error handling)

Hands-on experience with third-party API integrations

SQL proficiency (joins, indexing concepts, query optimization basics)

Experience with MySQL, SQL proficiency, and comfortable designing tables, working with existing schemas, and troubleshooting data issues

Comfortable using AI tools to accelerate development: Code assistance, refactoring support, test generation, documentation drafts

Ability to validate AI output and maintain code quality/security (no blind copy/paste)

Version control with Git (branching, PRs, code reviews)

Ability to write readable, maintainable code with basic testing discipline

Masters degree in Web Development, Computer Programming, Computer Science, or a related field

Web Development/Design: 3 years (Required)
