Simulator Mechanic 1

They are seeking a Simulator Mechanic 1 to assemble and install flight simulator components, assist with trainer modifications, and support the relocation of training devices. The role involves reading work orders, fabricating parts, and ensuring the proper functioning of simulator systems.

Responsibilities
Read work orders, follow production, and sample assemblies, diagrams, parts lists and receive verbal instructions regarding duties
Measure parts to determine specified tolerance
Ability to read precision measuring equipment
Reads and interprets blueprints to fabricate complex assemblies
Fabricates parts from raw materials
Drills, taps, reams, countersinks, and spot faces bolt holes in parts
Position and aligns parts
Bolts, screws, and rivets parts together to close tolerances
Disassembles and replaces parts as required
Cleans and lubricates parts and assemblies
Marks identifying information on parts
Inventory assign toolbox and sign inventory sheet
Assist in tool room inventory
Assist in simulator teardown and packing of simulator components for shipment
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or general education degree
Airframe's portion of the FAA A&P license preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
3 + years' experience in aircraft structural repair or flight simulator assembly
Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations with other employees of the organization
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to figure percentages, area, circumference, and volume and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
Must have a good knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical hand tools and be able to effectively use them
Must have a sound understanding of military and commercial workmanship standards
Must be willing and able to assume work assignments away from the facility for extended periods, for site installations and be willing to work rotating shifts
Must be able to work from parts lists, assembly drawings, schematics, and engineering orders
Must have basic computer skills for time reporting and work order processing
Must be able to perform work assignments with minimal supervision
