Concentric Corporation is partnering with a rapidly growing technology company to identify a Senior Windows Service Software Engineer responsible for developing highly reliable background services and agent software that operate deep within the Windows environment. The role involves designing, building, and optimizing Windows services using C#/.NET, and collaborating with product, QA, and other technical teams to ensure high-quality releases and ongoing system stability.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain Windows services and background agents in C#/.NET
Build long-running processes that must remain stable through updates and system changes
Implement secure and defensive coding practices to support reliability
Work with Windows APIs, services, registry, processes, and networking layers
Integrate OS-level functionality into platform components
Understand how changes in the OS affect system behavior and performance
Implement features related to application control, system policy enforcement, or endpoint behavior
Work with networking, privilege management, and secure communications
Follow secure coding standards and industry best practices
Diagnose crashes, memory leaks, threading issues, and performance bottlenecks
Use system tools for debugging at the OS level
Maintain reliability in enterprise production environments
Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and architecture discussions
Work closely with QA, product, and platform engineering teams
Contribute to internal documentation and continuous improvement efforts

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
5+ years of software engineering experience
3+ years building Windows services or system-level software in C#/.NET
Strong knowledge of Windows internals (services, registry, processes, OS behavior)
Experience with REST APIs and SQL or relational databases
Familiarity with TCP/IP, HTTP/S, or related networking protocols
Debugging experience using tools such as WinDbg, ProcMon, or similar

Preferred

Security, endpoint protection, or cybersecurity product environments
Kernel-level exposure or familiarity with OS-level constraints
Experience working in SaaS environments or enterprise software delivery models
Comfort with CI/CD tooling or DevOps workflows
