Responsibilities
Develop strong research programs utilizing state-of-the-art experimental testing facilities
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in structural engineering and mechanics, including courses on timber design, steel design, concrete design, or structural dynamics
Collaborate with a variety of internal and external groups
Contribute to professional and departmental service
Qualification
Required
A doctoral degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering at the start of the appointment
Ability to develop an externally funded research program leading to national recognition, teach courses pertaining to structural engineering, and contribute to professional and departmental service
Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to collaborate with a variety of internal and external groups
Preferred
Strong records of scholarship, teaching, and professional service
A demonstrated background in structural mechanics and materials testing
Interest in working with other researchers, particularly in the area of hybrid or modular structures
Possession of a Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to attain within five years of starting the appointment
