CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE III

The City of Houston is seeking a Customer Service Representative III for the Solid Waste Management Department. This role involves providing general information and customer assistance to both internal and external customers, utilizing problem-solving techniques and knowledge of the operations.

Responsibilities

Compute, authorize, and prepare documentation for adjustments to customers' accounts
Collects data and requests field investigations
Research and review bill inquiries by using computer and/or microfiche
Prepare written records of proceedings, as well as original correspondence to customers
Maintain up-to-date developments relevant to the operations
Other duties, as assigned

Qualification

Customer service experienceMicrosoft Office SuiteAdministrative experienceProblem-solving techniquesWritten communication

Required

Requires a high school diploma or a GED
Three years of administrative or customer service-related experience are required
Associate's degree may be substituted for up to two years of experience
Bachelor's degree may be substituted for the years of experience

Preferred

Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for
The preferred candidate should have at least 2-3 years of basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
