Responsibilities
Evaluate project specifications, bid documents, and site conditions to understand the scope and requirements of pavement maintenance projects
Conduct on-site visits and assessments to gather accurate information related to pavement conditions, measurements, and necessary repairs
Collaborate with project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, operations, and subcontractors, to ensure a clear understanding of project expectations
Utilize estimating software, historical data, and industry knowledge to develop comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for pavement maintenance projects
Provide customers with detailed and accurate pavement maintenance budget plans
Analyze project plans, quantities, and material requirements to determine labor, equipment, and material costs
Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and propose value engineering alternatives while maintaining project quality and client requirements
Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and proposals, ensuring transparency and accuracy in estimating
Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals for pavement maintenance projects, adhering to project deadlines and requirements
Collaborate with the bid team to ensure comprehensive and compelling bid submissions
Review bid documents, contracts, and terms to understand project risks, opportunities, and contractual obligations
Analyze historical project data, industry trends, and market conditions to inform accurate cost estimating and bidding strategies
Research material costs, subcontractor pricing, and labor rates to maintain up-to-date and competitive pricing information
Continuously improve estimating methods and techniques based on lessons learned and industry best practices
Work with clients, project managers, and subcontractors to clarify project details, resolve queries, and provide necessary information related to cost estimates
Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, operations, and accounting, to ensure accurate handover of estimating information and project requirements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience
Proven experience as a Pavement Maintenance Estimator or similar role in the construction industry (preferred)
Strong knowledge of pavement maintenance techniques, materials, and industry standards
Proficiency in cost estimating software and tools
Technology Savvy
Ability to multi-task and stay organized of customer, and team needs
Must have a clean driving record
Detail-oriented with the ability to interpret project plans and specifications accurately
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors
Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures within the construction industry
Preferred
Blueprint takeoff (Bluebeam, STACK, etc.) software experience is a plus
