Senior Production Planner

Responsibilities

Creates and maintains material master data pertinent to part number configuration throughout production processes
Development of master schedules to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer requirements
Required to develop and maintain production routings and bill of materials
Analyse production specifications and plant capacity planning to determine material requirements
Release materials and authorize production activities through preparation and issuing of production work orders
Expedites production flows that delay delivery targets and alters schedules to meet customer needs
Maintain the usage of the Serial Number Log to ensure product serial numbers are not duplicated
Review the SA-001 Contract Review Form for all customer contracts to ensure all customer requirements are flowed down and followed throughout the production process
Coordinate production activity with department supervisors and leads to determine status of assigned material
Detailed communication with Purchasing on material needs of parts from outside sources
Maintain control of product line inventory through accurate accounting of material usage through production, scrap, and loss
Adheres to applicable Martin-Baker America operating procedures and work instructions at all times
Maintains Configuration Control process
Manual execution of MRP (material requirements planning)
Development of forecast and shortage reports
Perform rework planning activities related to production processes
Submit the FGRR and initiate delivery process for end products
Confers with Manufacturing and Quality on production routings
Obtain the information and have the ability to brief the status of production during weekly production meetings

Required

Must have exposure to ERP or MRP systems and strong computer skills
Position requires the ability to accurately communicate information to Department Supervisors, Department Leads, and production line employees
Must be able to respond quickly and accurately to requests for information and reports derived from the companies MRP system
Position requires an understanding of production planning, scheduling, and inventory control techniques
Position demands a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Must have the ability to accurately understand and interpret complex product drawings, specifications, and manufacturing techniques
Position requires the ability to lead product line team activities in the area of professional expertise
Position requires a demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently manage own activities independently
Must be able to follow instructions and accept assignments from Department Manager
Capable of resolving conflicting requirements through coordination with other members of the product line teams
Position requires demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with subordinates, peers, supervisors, and managers
Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, or other related fields
Between two and five years' experience in production planning and inventory control activities preferred
Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, and move about the facility
Requires the ability to operate lengthy sessions on computer systems and read detailed documentation for extended periods
Employee occasionally to use hands and arms, with the ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds
Occasional local travel is expected with this position
Overseas travel may be required for reviews with Martin-Baker Aircraft

Preferred

Experience in a Department of Defense business desired
SAP experience desired
