LAW STUDENT INTERNSHIP (1st & 2nd Year law students) Unpaid
NEOGOV is offering an unpaid internship opportunity within the District Attorney's Office for 1st and 2nd year law students. Interns will assist with legal research, writing, and case preparation, gaining practical experience in the field of criminal prosecution while supporting public safety and justice.

Responsibilities
Conduct legal research and analysis on criminal law issues, statutes, case law, and procedural rules
Assist with legal writing, including drafting memoranda, motions, briefs, and summaries for attorney review
Support case preparation by organizing files, reviewing discovery, summarizing evidence, and assisting with trial preparation as appropriate
Observe court proceedings, including hearings, motions practice, and trials, to gain practical insight into courtroom advocacy and procedure
Engage with members of the prosecution team, including attorneys, investigators, victim advocates, paralegals, and support staff, to understand the collaborative nature of case management
Complete additional projects and assignments as directed to support office priorities
Qualification
Required
Must be enrolled in the 1st or 2nd Year of an accredited law school
Successful interns are proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards
