CRH is a leading supplier of construction aggregates and asphalt products, and they are seeking a Construction Intern to provide hands-on experience in various paving projects. The intern will assist with project preparation, scheduling, cost tracking, and quality assurance practices under the guidance of experienced supervisors.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparation and setup of projects

Assist with daily paving crew scheduling software

Assist with crew production target setting software

Assist with tracking daily quantities

Assist with tracking project costs and payments

Perform field measurements and grade checks

Assist with job quantity measurements

Assist with final billing quantities

Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite

Learn estimating and bid tracking software

Read specifications and plans

Complete material and quantity takeoffs

Work with estimators, project managers and construction crews

Spend time working with plant operators

Assist with asphalt testing in the lab and on the job

Required

Currently enrolled in a college degree program, preferably in Construction Management, Construction Engineering Technologies, Civil Engineering, or closely related program of study

Ability to follow verbal and written instruction

Detail oriented

Ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads in a fast-paced environment

Valid driver's license and reliable automobile

Willingness to drive to our multiple sites across the Greater Rochester Region and Southern Tier with mileage reimbursement program
