Business Coordinator

Sumitomo Corporation of Americas (SCOA) is an integrated global trading company involved in various commercial ventures. Responsibilities

Analyze and prepare monthly financial performance reports of the subsidiaries, coordinating with the subsidiary’s accounting and business line representatives as needed
Interpret necessary reports in accordance with the subsidiary's management rules and decipher appropriate circulation to relevant internal departments
Prepare and ensure internal approvals for project-specific requests including credit management are obtained, as required by the subsidiary’s management rules
Coordinating insurance coverage for subsidiaries together with corporate groups
Oversees storage, retention, and management of data, including reports and application documents submitted by the subsidiaries
Consolidate and relay directives from the parent company, particularly regarding compliance and regulatory requirements, to the subsidiaries

Required

Minimum of 3 years' experience in preparing and interpreting various reports such as financial and performance statements or related
Bachelor's degree in business or related study
Bilingual in Japanese (written and verbal)
PC literacy with intermediate level use of MS Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, & SharePoint)
Ability to organize work, establish and manage priorities across multiple projects under general guidance
Strong knowledge of accounting principles with the ability to read and analyze financial statements
Proficiency in preparing and interpreting Profit and Loss (P&L) statements for budgeting and performance management
Practical experience in handling legal documents
Strong business writing skills with the ability to produce clear and accurate documents
Excellent document management skills, with a keen ability to organize and maintain records effectively
Ability to understand and comply with internal company regulations, prepare required documentation, and follow through on approval processes
Strong logical thinking and analytical abilities
Experience working in a diverse cultural environment with an understanding of Japanese business manners/culture
