Responsibilities

Perform equipment stress analyses using FEA software to produce equipment design calculations, as well as perform reviews of FEA and other submittals prepared by equipment vendors
Resolve technical issues related to the equipment design and discuss them with other disciplines, groups, suppliers and the customer
Interface and coordinate with other engineering disciplines in the development of the design
Support the production of the equipment drawings
This may be performed as an individual contributor or leading other engineers
Prepare reports and studies in resolving open technical issues related to the equipment design
Support development of cost estimates and schedules for mechanical equipment
Ensure work is performed to the project’s quality standards for nuclear facilities while executing to the schedule

Required

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering with less than 1 year of experience
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering with a minimum of 1 year of relevant professional work experience
Must possess the right to work and remain in the United States without Bechtel visa sponsorship now or in the future
Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education
Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (Even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge)
Non-U.S. citizens from countries identified by the Department of Energy as posing heightened security concerns—including sensitive countries, state sponsors of terrorism, countries of risk, and other designated countries—are subject to additional security requirements that limit site access
Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) software for structural and thermal analyses. WTP prefers ANSYS
Experience using industry standards such as ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, AISC ASD, and AISC N690
Experience producing equipment design calculations
Experience producing design documents, including specifications and datasheets that incorporate the applicable design requirements, including nuclear safety requirements
