Energy Engineering Internship

Responsibilities
Providing project development assistance to sell stand-alone energy service projects or development of LEED sustainable solutions
Review project specifications, drawings, and project-specific documents to establish an energy efficient solution for our customers
Supporting facility site visits and communicate basic design concepts with outside vendors, consultants, or Siemens Project Managers as it pertains to the scope of the FIMs (facility improvement measures)
Supporting preliminary and detailed facility audits to identify FIMs and/or opportunities
Taking or supervising equipment measurements, data logging, and equipment trending necessary to develop energy savings opportunities
Working directly with Energy Services staff with building energy simulation programs or excel spreadsheet calculations to determine project energy savings as well as analyze operational costs to identify operational savings
Supporting the development of preliminary and final energy services proposals
Participating in client meetings and presentations
Attending virtual executive discussions and events with other interns to develop a sense of what a career at Siemens is all about
Qualification
Required
Rising junior or senior undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy/Sustainability and Built Environment, or Computer Science. Candidates must not graduate prior to September 2026
Must be able to use laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Candidates must be available to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the 10-week internship
Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Canton, MA as this role does not provide housing or relocation support
Preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)
Skilled in using Windows laptops and adept at learning new software for programming and troubleshooting automation equipment
Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers
Demonstrated leadership potential
Strong analytical, writing, presentation, and critical thinking skills
Good verbal and written English communication skills
