Responsibilities
Owning and overseeing the month-end close process across multiple real estate entities
Reviewing and approving journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
Ensuring timely and accurate bank, loan, escrow, and intercompany reconciliations
Maintaining a clean, well-documented general ledger in SoftLedger
Overseeing rental and investment accounting, including data flows from AppFolio and other operational systems
Preparing and reviewing lender and investor reporting, including loan compliance packages and property operating statements
Partnering closely with the fractional controller (LLŪM) on accounting structure, close cadence, and controls
Identifying process gaps and implementing improvements to support scale and efficiency
Serving as the internal accounting lead and primary point of escalation for accounting matters
Qualification
Required
Strong command of GAAP and balance-sheet-focused accounting
Experience leading or overseeing month-end close in a multi-entity environment
Comfort with accounting judgment, prioritization, and ambiguity
Experience reviewing work and ensuring accuracy and consistency
Strong Excel skills and experience with cloud-based accounting systems
Prior experience as a Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, or similar role
Preferred
Real estate, investment, or construction accounting experience strongly preferred
