The College of Lake County is seeking a Laboratory Specialist to support the Precision Machining Technology program. The Lab Specialist will assist faculty with organization and maintenance of the program, while utilizing shop equipment.

Responsibilities

Support the department staff in developing/updating support documentation such as maintenance binders, MSDS binders, training documentation, records for accreditation and perform various duties with shop organization and new course content

Utilize all equipment (mills, lathes, and grinders) and tools common in a machine shop environment in the execution of these duties

Qualification

Required

High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum five (5) years of experience in a machine shop environment as a machinist

Must be able to operate mills, lathes, and surface grinders

Preferred

Project planning experience

Familiarity with MS Word and Excel
