Responsibilities
The Designer will work onsite under limited supervision to prepare mechanical designs and drawings utilizing NX1980 and Teamcenter, correctly applying the ASME Y14.5-M-1994 (or higher) GD&T standard
This work will be done to support projects within APS-TD DUNE
The work will be done using Design/Drafting procedures, working to meet project schedules and other requirements, and will include working directly with the engineering staff working on the projects to research and analyze design solutions, coordinate design development, and specify and select design components and materials
Design tolerance and stack up calculations, layout designs, detailing, advanced level 3D models, and 2D drawings required for the project
3D models and 2D drawings are completed in SolidWorks, managed in Windchill, NX and Team Center
Quantity will be directed by DOE for each task
Work shall be performed in accordance with the DOE QAM and APS-TD and Design/Drafting Procedures
All work will be reviewed, checked, and approved by DOE staff responsible for the specific task
Qualification
Required
Demonstrate acceptable proficiency in SolidWorks/NX via an interview through the ZOOM meeting portal
A minimum of a 5 years of experience as Designer
Ability to deliver a quality work product to deadline-driven projects
Preferred
Knowledge of NX 1980 and Teamcenter is beneficial
