Stratosphere Quality is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer / Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to support supplier quality initiatives and material quality performance for a short-term contract assignment in Perrysburg, OH. This role will work closely with suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams to drive corrective actions, continuous improvement, and supplier development.

Responsibilities

Perform failure analysis and inspection techniques on supplier materials
Support supplier audits, assessments, and source inspections
Evaluate supplier approval status and determine the need for corrective action plans
Interface with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to address material quality issues
Initiate and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Support Supplier Quality Development initiatives
Drive process and continuous improvement efforts
Assess supplier processes and capabilities using Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Mentor suppliers to improve quality performance and meet customer requirements

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field
Strong experience in Quality Engineering and/or Supplier Quality Engineering
Demonstrated knowledge of: Quality Control & Quality Assurance, ISO 9001 standards, PPAP documentation, APQP, Control Plans & Flow Charts, Data Analysis & Supplier Management
Strong hands-on experience with: Blueprint reading, GD&T, Precision measurement tools
Solid understanding of quality control standards and methodologies
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
High attention to detail with a results-driven mindset
