Yusen Logistics is working to become the world’s preferred supply chain logistics company, and they are seeking a DevOps Engineer II to lead the design and implementation of enterprise applications. The role involves architecting and building platforms for infrastructure management, as well as automating deployment and monitoring processes across various environments.

Responsibilities

Administration of DevOps and the processes to optimize service delivery (CI/CD)

Daily administration of Azure Services, VMWare, Kubernetes, containers, and storage

Daily administration of backups and disaster recovery (Onprem, Cloud, Kubernetes resources)

Automate with powershell, python, bash scripts, DevOps pipelines

Administer all equipment, hardware and software upgrades

Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights

Assists with technology planning through ongoing research, forecasting, and proactive initiatives

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve common technical issues involving multiple systems and networks

Demonstrates understanding of SMTP, TCP/IP, Active Directory, DNS, HTTP, FTP, and other technologies as required

Installs server hardware and software

Tunes, monitors and patches systems – either physical or virtual, cloud or non-cloud based

Conducts software rollouts that target a large group of the user community

Provides technical support to server clients. Resolves problems and manages incidents at the server level. Escalates any unresolved problems to vendors and/or management

Monitors and tests systems and configurations to ensure optimal performance per established objectives

Helps to establish and maintain standards and best practices

Guiding the development team

Documents installation procedures for systems

Creates and maintains detailed documentation of all system configurations and their functions

Supports all hardware/software applications used at Yusen Logistics

Will assist the team in taking assignment of Tier 2-3 ServiceNow incidents, project tasks, changes, and the resolution of those tickets

Will be assigned to after hours on call rotation that includes all members of the server team

Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; and 3+ years experience

3+ years' experience in a large multi-server, multi-site, 24x7 environment using these skills: installation of server infrastructure, server software upgrades/ patches, functional systems design, networking protocols, technical project management, data analysis, Microsoft Windows server administration, Unix server administration, clustered systems administration, VMWare/ Hypervisor virtual server administration, Azure, AWS

3+ years' experience with cloud services and cloud engineering like Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform / GKE

Kubernetes and containers

Familiarity with SQL databases

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve problems and to communicate with and support clients

Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people effectively

Ability to travel
