School Educator II
The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) is responsible for implementing the state's public school laws. They are seeking a School Educator II to provide itinerant, early intervention services to infants and toddlers with hearing loss, ensuring developmentally appropriate support in their natural environments.

Responsibilities
Participate in the writing of the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) with the family and Child Service Coordinator; provide written annual progress reports to the family and participate in the six month and annual reviews of the Individualized Family Service Plan
Provide developmentally appropriate language development sessions in the child’s natural environment and provide diagnostic teaching according to program protocol for each child and family
Develop and implement instruction designed to meet the unique needs of each child and family; model techniques for the child’s family and/or primary caregiver; identify, design, utilize and assess instructional materials for each individual child/family
Administer and interpret results of formal and informal language assessments with each child initially, annually, and at transition in order to monitor the child’s progress and ensure program accountability. Provide assessment reports to the parents
Maintain accurate records on services provided to the children, including service notes, Medicaid billing documentation and documentation of progress
Qualification
Required
Provide itinerant, early intervention services to infants and toddlers eligible to receive special education and related services for hearing loss under Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
Serve children in their home, childcare setting or other natural environments
Remote-based position requiring up to 80% travel
Access to reliable internet to conduct business using web-based platforms
Participate in the writing of the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) with the family and Child Service Coordinator
Provide written annual progress reports to the family
Participate in the six month and annual reviews of the Individualized Family Service Plan
Provide developmentally appropriate language development sessions in the child's natural environment
Provide diagnostic teaching according to program protocol for each child and family

Preferred
Non-expired teaching license with a license area of hearing impairment and Birth to Kindergarten
NC Infant-Toddler Credential issued through the Department of Public Health
Public special education teaching experience with children with hearing impairments
