Responsibilities
Research Fellow – Structural and Cellular Biology
The laboratory investigates the molecular mechanisms regulating chromatin structure and epigenetic processes in genome function and stability, using integrative approaches (e.g., Hu et al., Nature 2021; 596(7872):438-443 & Hu et al., Molecular Cell 2024; 84(5):839-853)
We seek a highly motivated recent Ph.D. graduate with expertise in cryoEM or cryoET
Candidates with a background in cell biology, particularly in DNA damage repair, will also be considered
The postdoctoral fellow will have access to state-of-the-art on-site facilities, including advanced instrumentation for cryoEM/cryoET (Glacios 2, Krios 5), NMR spectroscopy, and X-ray crystallography
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Demonstrated scientific writing skills, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively, with attention to detail and meticulous experimental record-keeping
A Research Fellow position in Life Sciences (LS) will require knowledge of either clinical-based research or laboratory-based research often obtained from a postdoctoral program
A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research
Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator
Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants
Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic

Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program
