Responsibilities

Lead architecture and technical direction across multiple teams and services to act as a technical lead on a greenfield team
Own and evolve key platform areas such as partner onboarding, authentication, user management, and developer tooling
Design, build, and review high-impact backend systems with a focus on scalability, reliability, and security
Drive solutions for ambiguous, cross-team problems and long-term technical challenges
Mentor engineers and raise the bar through code reviews, design guidance, and best practices
Partner closely with Engineering, Product, and Design to deliver scalable, production-ready solutions

Qualification

Required

8+ years of experience building complex software systems, operating at a Staff or Senior Staff level
Strong expertise in C#/.NET (PHP also considered) and SQL Server (schema design, performance tuning)
Experience designing and operating cloud-based systems on AWS, including scalability and fault tolerance
Solid background in distributed systems, system design, and SDLC best practices
Strong understanding of secure coding principles (OWASP, compliance-driven environments)
Proven ability to influence technical decisions, mentor engineers, and work across distributed teams

Preferred

Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines
Observability and monitoring tools (Datadog, New Relic, etc.)
Experience modernizing legacy systems
Background in payments, fintech, or high-availability platforms
