Responsibilities
Conduct new hire orientation sessions for production employees every Friday and on an as-needed basis
Facilitate engaging, informative safety training sessions for new and existing ship repair employees across various trades/crafts
Ensure all safety training materials and programs comply with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations
Collaborate with production training manager and production managers to assess specific training needs and implement effective solutions
Maintain accurate records of all training activities, certifications, and employee progress
Create and update training materials, including presentations, handouts, test questionnaire, etc
Travel between Portland and Seattle to facilitate training sessions on an as-needed basis (~5%)
Modified/Flexible schedule on as-needed basis, with hours varying based on operational needs and coverage requirements for both day and swing shifts
Provide guidance and support to employees on best safety practices and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on projects
Stay current on industry safety standards, best practices, and new regulations
Qualification
Required
At least 1 year of experience in a safety related role, including conducting training
High School Diploma or GED Certificate is required
Understanding of OSHA regulations and other applicable safety standards
Preferred
Train the Trainer certifications for various safety courses (i.e. Aerial Lift, Fire watch, Forklift, Fall Protection, Marine Confined Space, etc.)
