CUMULUS MEDIA is a prominent company in the broadcasting industry, currently seeking a Superstar Talk Show Host for their News/Talk 820 AM-93.3 FM WBAP station in Dallas, TX. The role requires an entertaining and well-informed individual who can engage a diverse audience while managing various responsibilities related to show preparation and social media interaction.

Responsibilities

Prepare the day’s top stories and support guest booking efforts in collaboration with the show producer

Incorporate news sound bites effectively to enhance show content and listener engagement

Partner closely with the Program Director and News Director to align content with the station’s strategic goals

Deliver clear, compelling, and effective live endorsements during broadcasts

Manage daily social media activity by posting relevant, audience-focused content across all platforms

Monitor and respond appropriately to breaking news, ensuring timely and accurate coverage

Oversee the technical quality and accuracy of all incoming and outgoing on‑air programming for the show

Participate confidently in remote broadcasts and represent the show at public appearances and events

Candidates must be entertaining, curious, funny, well-read, up on all current events and pop culture, not just politics

This is an 8 hr. a day, full-time job doing prep and research that translates and relates to a 35-64 year-old listener

The right fit for this job is extremely reliable, flexible and passionate about radio and digital audio mediums

Preferred

On-Air experience with successful ratings history preferred

Strong production skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and social networking

Strong knowledge of FCC rules and regulations

Socially informed and perceptive; up-to-date and in tune daily with the local and national trends and/or specialized knowledge of topics/events related to on-air discussions

Demonstrated creativity and imagination on air and on-line

Thrives in a team environment

Demo of show, interviews, commentary, social media and any video work should be added to online profile/application

Familiar with audio mixers and remote monitoring systems for radio transmissions

Available for emergency wall-to-wall coverage if necessary
