As a Fiber Splicer, you will be responsible for producing end-to-end fiber optic networks, working on the pre-installation and construction side of telecom projects, and ensuring high-quality connections through splicing and testing.

Responsibilities
Work on the pre-installation, construction side of telecom projects
Splice and test larger fiber counts off the mainline (commonly 48-288+)
Splice various types of fiber, including single fiber, ribbon, and loose tube
Operate and troubleshoot with all standard testing equipment, including OTDR (1310, 1550, DWDM, CWDM), OLTS, Max Tester, and power meters
Prep and install fiber splice enclosures (e.g., Tyco, Commscope, Corning)
Utilize fusion splicers and related equipment to ensure high-quality connections
Apply fiber engineering knowledge to interpret fiber designs, documentation, light levels, and dB loss
Work in outdoor utility construction environments, often in varying weather conditions
Qualification
Required
You have at least 3-5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience
You are comfortable working on ladder or bucket truck
You are willing and able to work overtime as needed and rotating on-call shifts
You have a valid drivers license with clean driving record past 3 years
You have or are able to get a DOT Med card (CDL preferred)

You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality
You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work
