Assistant Inspector General (Investigations)

Responsibilities

Conduct complex, high priority, and sensitive inquiries and investigations into allegations of Military Whistleblower Reprisal as directed by the Director, DHA, Deputy Director DHA or the DHA Inspector General
Prepare and review written administrative investigation reports and related correspondence
Exercise ingenuity in interpreting and revising existing regulations, policies, statues, and directives relevant to IG mission and functions
Brief leadership on investigative findings and investigative data in support of management decisions
Provide case management of complaints made to the DHA OIG

Required

Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes: Conducting investigations regarding allegations of military Whistleblower Protection Act violations; collecting evidence to determine violation of rule, law or regulation; and developing investigative reports
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application
Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12)
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship
One year trial/probationary period may be required
Direct Deposit of Pay is required
