Responsibilities

You will manage review of work to ensure all jobs are completed prior to overhaul key events
You will prepare directives that provide guidance for the successful accomplishment of the production mission of the assigned ship
You will direct daily production work through subordinate supervisors by delegating non-nuclear overhaul tasks
You will serve as final approval authority for ship's work execution schedules
You will monitor job order costs to ensure proper charging and resolve problem areas

Required

Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present
You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift
This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with shipyard work operations and shop practices
Experience with all phases of ship repair and overhaul
Experience in production control, budget control, determining material availability and personnel management
Experience providing guidance on the ship repairs process and coordinating necessary corrective actions involving production errors
Experience making recommendations for techniques and procedures resulting in increased efficiency; and effectively communicating both orally and in writing in order to inform, advise, train, guide, or persuade a variety of audiences
Experience managing job order costs, work progress reports, manpower allotment and material availability
