Criminal Investigator (Training Program Manager)

The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration's (TIGTA) Office of Investigations is focused on protecting the Internal Revenue Service from threats and corruption. The Criminal Investigator (Training Program Manager) will serve as a senior level instructional specialist, developing training programs and leading complex investigations within the agency.

Responsibilities

Evaluate the need for, design and develop programs and course materials in the field of law enforcement; determine course objectives; and identify related knowledge, skills, and abilities which lead to the achievement of training objectives
Analyze information and write comprehensive summaries and reports regarding why a particular type of training is indicated, the organizational impact of developing said course, the effectiveness of existing FLETC and TIGTA programs, etc., in order to obtain approval to proceed with course development/amendment or to negotiate the parameters of the courses/curriculum being designed
Design evaluation and quality control means to measure the effectiveness of program concepts or technique to determine if progress is being made toward attainment of programs objectives and the necessity for program expansion, contraction, or revision, in view of current and anticipated needs
Frequently lead or participate on task forces or ad hoc committees made up of representatives of the TIGTA OI Training Academy, FLETC, or other agencies concerned with training policies, a specific curriculum, or academic requirements
Participate in technical and related support for training, internal inspection and or quality control

Required

Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National
Must successfully complete a background investigation
Top Secret/SCI & Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required
Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency
You will be required to regularly report to the Duty Station listed above
If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so
Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9
Obtain and use a Government-issued charge card for business-related travel
File a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of appointment and annually from then on
The employment of any candidate, including a current employee or a new hire, selected for this position is conditioned upon review/check of the candidate's tax compliance
Submit to a drug test prior to your appointment and random drug testing while you occupy the position
Complete a pre-employment physical examination (including vision, hearing, cardiovascular and mobility of extremities) by an authorized Government physician and be determined physically fit to perform strenuous physically demanding duties
Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory
Complete or have previously completed the course(s) at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA
Sign a mobility agreement
Agree to work an average of two extra hours per day
