Responsibilities

Develop and sustain a process/system to monitor all projects, reports, briefings, task deliverables, etc. to enable the DASD to create metrics, assess status, and track progress of critical work being accomplished
Plan and advise on strategies and initiatives to achieve Military Community and Family Policy goals and objectives
Provide direction and oversight for specialized support functions in areas like legislative action, public affairs, social media, logistics and facility management, strategic planning, outreach, and other special interest areas
Govern a broad range of programs and services addressing the needs and challenges of service members and their families
Evaluate, integrate, and analyze policies and issues among the Military Departments and within the Department of Defense (DoD)
Review and recommend approval of single and long-range, multi-year budget plans based on program changes
Direct time-sensitive research and analysis of program and financial data from a wide variety of government and non-government sources to formulate and change policy or to recommend other service member and family-related actions
Expert advisor to senior executive management officials in the Office of the Secretary of Defense regarding military community and family program policies
