Responsibilities
Manage and oversee all aspects of inspections and planning functions
Provide technical assistance regarding building codes and regulations
Enforce building codes to ensure the safe and compliant construction of residential and commercial buildings
Qualification
Required
Relative associate degree
Considerable experience in construction
Possession of Level III Building, Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing certifications or related professional license and/or degree and experience
Valid NC Driver's License
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Computer proficiency with CAD programs and associated software
Management and effective customer service experience
Thorough understanding of building codes, laws, and ordinances
Strong problem-solving skills
Preferred
Experience with planning and zoning
Willingness to obtain planning and Level III Inspector certifications within three years of hire
