Senior Program Coordinator

The New Mexico Department of Health is the state's lead public health agency, dedicated to protecting and improving the health and wellbeing of all New Mexicans. The Senior Program Coordinator will ensure that the goals and objectives of the Farmers Market Program are met, which includes managing federal and state policies and providing support to farmers and participants at markets.

Responsibilities

Assist in the evaluation and monitoring of card inventory and supplies
Respond to outside agencies, including requests for information regarding the program
Assist with planning, developing and implementing special projects as assigned
Manage and input required data into the program's database
Phone calls with participants on a daily basis (up to 200 calls a day-rotation basis with other staff)
Assist with food box aggregation, purchases from farmers, create food boxes/bags and deliver to locations if needed
Provides support, technical assistance, and training to staff including but not limited to clinic staff, Senior Centers statewide, farmers, market managers, senior and WIC participants
Communicate with management team, WIC staff, and other external partners to assure compliance of policies and procedures and for collaboration efforts within the State of NM on food insecurity
Work will include rotating travel (before and after the season), after hour calls and some weekends during the market season

Required

Associate's degree and three (3) years of experience in program administration or project management in areas related to the purpose of the position
Any combination of education and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Self-motivated and exceptional customer service
Experience combining strategic thinking with attention to detail
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience finding creative solutions to problems
4 plus years of experience with MS Office Suite
