Ortho Advanced Practice Provider (PA/NP) - UNC Health Cary Orthopaedics

UNC Health is seeking a talented Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for an exciting opportunity at Cary Orthopaedics. The clinician will work under the supervision of a physician, responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with spine disorders and general musculoskeletal issues.

Responsibilities

Accurately diagnose and facilitate the recovery of patients with cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine disorders, as well as general musculoskeletal joint dysfunction
Order and interpret diagnostic tests based on patient needs
Perform office procedures, including injections and other non-surgical care
Triage and manage patient-related clinical questions and concerns
Manage prescriptions
Assist the physician in the operating room and with hospital rounding (approximately 50% hospital and 50% clinic)
Participate in office call rotation

Required

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
NCCPA certification / ANCC certification / AANP certification
Current Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner licensure in North Carolina
DEA and Controlled Substance License
Strong knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy and functional spine mechanics is a plus
Exceptional patient care skills and experience
Ability to work independently and as part of a clinical team
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks, demands, and high patient volume
Highly efficient and motivated
Proven attention to detail
Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program
Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (i.e., Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant) in the state of North Carolina
Board certification if required by the Department. DEA
Demonstrated clinical competency
Effective leadership skills. Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Demonstrated written and verbal communication and strong analytical skills
Effective interaction to ensure the successful care of patients in the clinical setting
Documentation in the medical record to substantiate accurate billing

Preferred

Orthopedic spine care, orthopedic urgent care, and/or surgical experience preferred
