Responsibilities
Oversee preparation, review, and posting of journal entries, accruals, and month-end adjustments
Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and ensure integrity across accounts
Manage accounts payable, receivable, and payroll processes for accuracy and compliance
Support month-end and year-end close activities in accordance with GAAP
Prepare monthly financial packages and balance sheet summaries for leadership
Assist with grant-related tracking, deferred revenue, and receivables
Contribute to audit readiness and year-end tax workpapers
Drive process improvements and documentation for financial operations
Collaborate with finance and program teams to resolve discrepancies and enhance reporting
Qualification
Required
5+ years in accounting with strong balance sheet reconciliation expertise
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Proficiency in accounting software; advanced Excel required
Solid understanding of GAAP and nonprofit/fund accounting principles
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational abilities, and communication skills
Proactive, team-oriented, and committed to process improvement
Local to the Boston area for occasional onsite work (2–3 days/month)
