Scientist - Nondestructive Assay (NDA)
Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo) is focused on providing a sustainable future for the Hanford area through environmental protection and remediation. The Nondestructive Assay (NDA) Scientist is responsible for technical oversight, data validation, and planning assistance for NDA capabilities related to hazardous waste management projects.
Responsibilities
Performing NDA technical measurement oversight, NDA data quantification and qualification, and NDA quality assurance validation
Providing planning assistance for NDA capabilities required for D&D activities for D4 End States (D4ES) and other Hanford Projects as needed
Providing direction and oversight to HAMTC bargaining unit personnel
Understanding the Waste Projects and Operations waste acceptance criteria
Qualification
Required
Senior Level Grade 18: Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline with 6 or more years of relevant experience
Principal Level Grade 19: Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline with 8 or more years of relevant experience
Preferred
Familiarity with the setup and use of gamma spectroscopy or other NDA equipment
Knowledgeable in one or more of the following areas: Statistics, Radiochemistry, Electronics, Health Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Nuclear Safety, and Quality Assurance
Familiarity with commercial NDA Software
Familiarity with in-situ measurement methodology
Experience in developing and working with MicrosoftTM Excel spreadsheets
Experience with safeguard, waste, and D&D
Familiarity with fixed NDA systems
Experience performing duties as a Radioactive Source Custodian
Ability to qualify as Fissile Handler/Supervisor
NDA experience or NDA field experience
