Responsibilities

Lead curriculum development
Manage course scheduling, budgets, season planning, personnel and facilities
Provide mentorship to colleagues
Advocate for faculty research and professional development
Represent and champion the department across campus and within local communities
Support and engage with other academic departments, on-campus centers and offices, and off-campus organizations
Direct one main stage theater production each year that cultivates collaboration, curiosity, and ensemble community

Required

MFA or PhD required
substantial experience as a department chair
proven teaching record
robust experience in creative and scholarly research, with a focus on contemporary theater
ability to move between different pedagogical modalities
ability to teach courses that engage theory and practice, including acting and directing, and additional areas of expertise such as devising or performance history and criticism
ability to direct one main stage theater production each year that cultivates collaboration, curiosity, and ensemble community
ongoing commitment to student-centered, equitable, inclusive, and accessible pedagogies that serve a broad range of student populations
interest in deepening engagement with underrepresented archives and repertoires, as well as transnational frameworks and methodologies
